We got an owl from mum with a clipping from the Prophet. Also a list, guess she got it from Uncle Whatsit, names circled, "DO NOT OFFEND." It's not like I TRY to piss people off.

On to memorizing the list I guess. I don't really know why it matters it's not like that kind of people would be going around talking to me.

Mum bought another door.

You know, the things with the hinges and knobs that you stick in the middles of walls.

She collects them. She turned one into a coat rack once.

I know what a door is, thanks, but I was wondering why... well. Why on Earth does she collect them?

Well you seemed confused, how was I supposed to know what about?

And hell if I know, she thinks they're clever or precious or something. She likes jugs too.

About why your mother would've bought another door, yes. Isn't it more logical to assume that's what I was confused about as opposed to not knowing what a door is? Merlin, and people wonder why everyone thinks Gryffindors are bloody stupi Common sense won't bite you if you use it, I promise.

Are you SURE? We aren't exactly on the best terms and all, I don't think it would recognize me if I paid a call.

Anyway, I still don't know. She just likes them.

Milk jugs. Not boo other things.

That's what I thought. I'd be a tad concerned about your family if she collected tits.

Yeah, I think you'd be pretty damn justified there.

What sort of door?

Wood. She doesn't like metal ones unless they've got all fancy ironwork on them. And there's some kind of carving and the paint's flaking off in bits and she'll probably sand it down and varnish it and stick knobs all over and make another coatrack.

Well yeah, didn't you notice the last twenty times you've been to our house? Can't have missed the coat rack one at least.

Your parents are...special ones, yeah.

I've never heard of door collecting- though I don't suppose that's any more weird than my mum- she collects baskets and hangs them on walls.

Yeah, that's what my mum does too, with the doors. At least baskets are cheaper and smaller. Unless they're huge baskets made of gold and diamonds or something.

You'd think they were made of gold and diamonds the way my mum gets all excited over buying new ones!

Yeah, that sounds like mine when she finds a dusty old milk jug in some pawn shop. She haggles the hell out of those old blokes too, like we can't afford to pay whatever they want.
